Three things no other FiveM phone does

Every phone script has a feature list. These are the parts that are hard to copy, so they come first.

Real video calls

Each player's camera is captured from the game view and streamed peer to peer over WebRTC, with camera on and off, flip camera and a picture-in-picture preview of yourself. Voice keeps going through pma-voice or SaltyChat. Nothing is relayed through your server, so it costs you no bandwidth.

A voice assistant with no API key

Press the Action button on the side of the phone and speak. Nova makes calls and sends texts, sets alarms, timers, reminders and notes, controls the music, the flashlight, Do Not Disturb, dark mode, brightness and volume, sets the GPS to a saved place or a business, finds your car, reads your bank balance, reads out your unread messages and requests a taxi.

It works in all 9 languages, needs no API key and no AI service, and reads its answers out loud. The phrases are resolved on the phone itself from the locale file, so you can teach it a new way of saying something by adding a line. On the lock screen it answers the time, the weather and the music and calls emergency numbers; anything else asks for Face ID first.

A camera that needs no screenshot resource

The game view is rendered live inside the phone screen. Photos and videos are captured from the viewfinder, with the filter, zoom and format applied, so there is no screenshot resource in the chain. Front and rear camera with a flip animation, zoom up to 6x, a flash that lights the scene in game, 3 and 10 second timers, grid, filters, and free look to aim with the mouse while the phone stays on screen.

Video mode records the viewfinder as WebM with the player's microphone and uploads it when you stop. The photo editor does exposure, contrast, saturation, warmth, 8 filters, crop, rotate and flip, saving a new photo so the original survives.

The system, not just the apps

The shell is where a phone is used, so it got the same attention as the apps.

  • Dynamic Island with live activities: the call in progress, a voice memo recording, the timer, the stopwatch, a snoozed alarm and the music, each with its own controls, on the lock screen and in the Notification Center too
  • Multitasking: swipe up and hold for the app switcher, with a card per recent app showing what it last displayed. An app reopens on the page and tab it was left on
  • Home screen like iOS 18: apps and widgets stay on the cell you drop them on, gaps included, with the rest moving aside live. Folders made by dropping one app on another, widgets in three sizes from a gallery, the Today View, the App Library, and light, dark, automatic or tinted icons
  • Lock screen: up to 6 saved lock screens you switch between by holding it, each with its own wallpaper, clock font and color, up to 4 widgets and its own two buttons
  • Control Center like iOS 18: add, remove, resize and reorder controls across up to 4 pages
  • Spotlight: pull down to search apps, contacts, messages, notes, mail, calendar events and reminders
  • First start setup like a new iPhone: animated hello, appearance, passcode, Face ID, wallpaper and the welcome screen with the phone number. Only new phones see it
  • Mouse gestures throughout: drag to scroll with a glide when flicked, drag sideways between pages, pull down for Control Center and Notification Center, swipe up from the bar to go home
  • Five iPhone 18 Pro frame colors, light and dark themes, 8 wallpapers plus custom URLs, a phone size setting, and scaling from 720p to 4K including vertical monitors

Security the server actually enforces

The passcode is not a UI check. A locked phone answers nothing but calls and the lock screen, five wrong codes block it for a minute (also after switching phones and back), and Face ID only recognises the character who set the code, so a stolen phone with a passcode is useless to the thief.

Apps can be locked behind Face ID or hidden entirely: a locked app asks every time it opens from anywhere, its notifications only say there is one, its card in the app switcher is blurred, Spotlight leaves out what it holds, and the assistant asks for Face ID before touching it.

Live location in Messages is read by the server, so it cannot be faked. The multiplayer games keep the board, the turns and the result on the server, so a leaderboard of wins against other players means something.

Find My, and what happens to a stolen phone

The character who sets a phone up owns it in Find My. From there:

  • Where it is. A phone in someone's pocket shows where that player is, live, even when they are not using it. One nobody carries, or with a dead battery, shows where it was last seen
  • Play Sound. It rings at full volume even in silent mode, and the players around hear it, so it can be found in a crowd or a car
  • Lost Mode. It locks and shows your message and a number to call. Whoever has it can call that number and emergency services, nothing else. Face ID stops working and only the passcode unlocks it
  • Erase, with Activation Lock. Everything is wiped and the phone goes back to setup, but it stays locked to you: anyone else who opens it only sees iPhone Locked to Owner. A stolen phone its owner erased is worthless to the thief

The People tab lists the friends sharing their live location with you.

Unique phones and iCloud

Turn on unique phones and each phone item becomes its own device, with its own number stored in the item metadata, which ox_inventory even shows in the tooltip. Contacts, messages, photos, notes, events, reminders, mail, social accounts, listings and settings belong to that phone, so a stolen phone comes with its data unless it has a passcode. The bank, crypto and vehicles stay with the character.

Carry several and the one you use becomes the active phone; the others show as unavailable and collect missed calls. Turning the option on moves a character's existing number and data onto their first phone, so nothing is lost.

iCloud Backup then matters, and it is built carefully: only the phone's real owner backs it up. A stolen phone is never backed up to the thief's iCloud, so they cannot restore its data or its social accounts somewhere else. A new phone offers the character's backups during its first start setup, and restoring moves the social and dating accounts over, so a thief loses access to them.

Everything around you hears it

No extra resource for any of this.

  • Players nearby hear your ringtone, fading with distance. Silent mode vibrates instead and only the people right next to you hear the buzz
  • Music on speaker: the players within range hear the same song at the same moment, and your pauses, skips and seeks reach them. Someone walking up starts hearing it where the song is
  • Speakerphone: the players around the phone hear the call and can talk into it, following people as they walk up or away
  • The flashlight comes from the phone in your hand and every player nearby sees it. It stays on with the phone closed, and players can bind a key to it
  • Custom ringtones from any audio URL, which nearby players hear too. The six built-in ringtones and four text tones are synthesized in the browser, so there are no audio files at all

It fits the server you already run

Invoices. They work with esx_billing and with the phone_invoices table of qb-phone and jim-payments, so the bills your job menus already send show up in the phone and can be paid there. Society invoices go to the job account through esx_addonaccount, Renewed-Banking, qb-banking or qb-management, with an optional commission for the employee who sent it.

Valet. Vehicle state is read from the framework tables that esx_garage, qb-garages and qbx_garages already use, and keys are handed over automatically with qb-vehiclekeys, qbx_vehiclekeys, wasabi_carlock, qs-vehiclekeys, MrNewbVehicleKeys, Renewed-Vehiclekeys or cd_garage. Any other key resource is one config function.

Business numbers. Calling a business rings every employee on duty and the first to answer takes the call. Texts reach them in the Companies app, where they answer as the business. Numbers marked as emergency can be called from the lock screen without unlocking, in airplane mode, and free from a payphone.

Custom apps. Any resource adds its own app to the home screen and the App Store with one export and an HTML page, in any framework it likes. The SDK gives it the theme, the locale and the safe areas, plus notifications, toasts, icon badges, a photo picker, a contact picker and a confirm dialog, and it blocks game input while a text field is focused.

Running it

  • 0.00 ms while the phone is closed. No loop exists until the phone is open, a call is up, it is charging, or the camera or a video call is running
  • The database tables are created automatically. Nothing to import
  • Automatic cleanup. Old messages, calls, mail, bank history, paid invoices and the rest are deleted in small batches after the days you choose, every day. Momentos are kept forever on purpose
  • Discord logs for money, invoices, crypto, valet, DarkChat, posts, news, listings, uploads, water damage, hires and firings, Find My and admin commands, each to its own webhook if you want. Calls and messages are off by default for privacy. Logs are queued and batched so a busy server stays under Discord's limits
  • An admin command to look up a phone, clear a forgotten passcode, repair water damage, change a number (moving its chats, calls and listings with it), hand out verified badges, run the cleanup or start a Momento round
  • A moderator ace to delete any post, listing or news article

Items and water damage

The phone item is optional, with a prop and animations that switch between texting and calling, and you can let everybody use the phone without it. A battery drains while the phone is in use, with low battery warnings and a powerbank item.

A phone left under water breaks: it will not open, takes no calls and shows no notifications, until a repair kit fixes it, an admin repairs it, or it dries if you allow that. Five case items (clear, black, pink, leather and a rugged waterproof one) show on the phone and come back as items when removed.

Item images are included as 256x256 PNGs with transparent backgrounds. The repair kit and the cases can be switched off if you do not want them.

Compatibility

  • Frameworks: ESX Legacy, QBCore and Qbox
  • Required: ox_lib and oxmysql
  • Voice: pma-voice or SaltyChat, optional
  • Target: ox_target or qb-target for payphones, optional
  • Inventories: ox_inventory, qb-inventory, qs-inventory, codem-inventory and origen_inventory. Any other one falls back to your framework's item functions
  • Languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, Polish and Turkish
  • Stop any other phone resource first (qb-phone, npwd, lb-phone): two phones fight over the same keys, the phone animation and the game camera

About API keys

Being straight about this, since it decides whether the phone fits your budget:

  • Needs nothing: the voice assistant, the ringtones and text tones, the built-in stickers, all the proximity audio, video calls on the free default STUN
  • Needs a provider for uploads: photos, videos and voice messages go through Fivemanage, a Discord webhook or your own endpoint. Keys stay on the server and never reach players
  • Optional free keys: KLIPY or GIPHY for GIF search, Jamendo for song search. Without them the stickers, the config songs, the radio stations and audio links still work

What stays open

  • config/config.lua, the whole phone: items, water damage, cases, setup, backups, unique phones, Find My, battery, calls, voicemail, alarms, ringtone range, flashlight, assistant, video, live location, invoices, valet, services, crypto, payphones, music, companies and the defaults of a new phone
  • config/apps.lua, the app list, the dock, which apps are optional and the job restrictions
  • config/server.lua, upload provider and limits, WebRTC provider, search keys, the moderator ace, cleanup, the admin command and the Discord logs
  • locales/*.json, every text in all 9 languages, including the assistant's phrases
  • framework/, inventory/ and target/, every bridge, so a modified framework or inventory can be adapted

Plus server exports for the phone number, the source behind a number, the email, whether a player has a phone or is in a call, ending a call, sending a notification, a mail, a text from any number, an invoice, a verified badge and a Momento round; and client exports to open and close the phone, open it on an app, and add or remove a custom app.
